6th Lion Group Cross Country
Secom had participated in the 6th Lion Group Cross Country held at Megasteel, Banting. The event was held on 18th & 19th of November 2006. Besides Cross Country Run, the Group also organized mixed volleyball matches and Secom did very well in both events. Our staff achieved top 2 spots for the Cross Country Run, 1st runner up in the mixed volleyball game and Secom was declared joint champion with Posim for the Cross Country Run.

Expo Cintai Malaysia 2006
Secom (M) Sdn Bhd had participated in Expo Cintai Malaysia 2006 under The Lion Group flag from 6th - 10th of September 2006. The event held in Putra World Trade Centre was meant to promote Malaysian products such as electronic and electrical, garment and fashion, leather and leather wear, food and beverage, household products, tourism, education, information technology, finance and banking, automotive etc from within Malaysia and the region. The Expo is held once every 2 years and it was organized by The Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (KLSCCCI). It was officially launched by YB. Dato' Haji Ahmad Husni Bin Mohd Hanadzlah, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry on 7th September 2006.

Seminar: Internal crime & organized crime
A joint security seminar between SECOM (M) Sdn Bhd and Asia Infonet (M) Sdn Bhd was held on last Thursday, 13th July 2006 from 2pm - 4pm in Equatorial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The talk was given by Mr Honda, Director and Deputy General Manager of SECOM (M) Sdn Bhd to over 50 participants mainly from small-medium Japan base companies in Malaysia.

ISF 2006 at KL Convention Centre
SECOM (M) Sdn Bhd had participated in the Malaysia's Biggest Security & Safety Exhibition & Forum, ISF 2006. It was held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 27th to 30th of June 2006. There were over 200 exhibitors involved namely, Microengine, Camware, Elid, Panasonic, Alarm & Automation and many more. The event is held once every 2 years and this time it was organized and managed by AMB Exhibitors Sdn Bhd. It was launched by Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department representing the Deputy Prime Minister, Dato' Sri Najib Tun Razak.

Product Seminar
A Product Seminar was held on 18th May 2006 at Istana Hotel. This event was jointly organized by Secom (M) Sdn Bhd, Lion Trading & Marketing Sdn Bhd, Stanley Security Solutions Inc and Sargent & Greenleaf. There were presentations on S & G Audit Trail Lock and A-Series Access Management System by Mr Ned R. Urschel, Vice President - Sales and Mr Fred Liu, Regional Manager - Asia Pacific of Sargent and Greenleaf. Another presentation was given by Mr Kelvin Suen, Product Manager of Security Solutions Asia (Stanley Works Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.) on Access Control System. This half-day affair was held to introduce new products to the Malaysian market segment namely banking business and chain stores.

SECOM 15th Anniversary
On the 1st April 2006, SECOM (M) Sdn Bhd organized an annual dinner in conjunction with its 15th anniversary celebration. The event was held at Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel with the featured theme : 60s flashback. Among the agenda involved are 5 years and 10 years service award, best employee of the year and lucky draw.

Futsal Game organised by Operations Department
Secom (M) Sdn Bhd has been organizing futsal game as part of the company's activity. It was held at the public sports complex around klang valley after working hours. This activitity is arranged by Operations Department to create a better relationship between the secom staff as well as to encourage a healthier life style. The response from the staff was overwhelming, in fact some of them are looking forward to the next game.

Visit of Mr. Kato, GM - Overseas, Secom Co. Ltd, Japan and our Nepalese manpower agent
On 13 Feb 2006, Mr. Kato, GM - Overseas, Secom Co. Ltd, Japan and our Nepalese manpower agent visited our HQ to discuss on the Nepalese guard business. At the same time they conducted audit to assess the working conditions and gather information on areas of improvement for he welfare of the Nepalese guards. Currently SECOM employed 78 Nepalese guards and more will be recruited to supply to the growing market demand.
