Launching of Community Policing
The launching of Shah Alam Community Policing, a joint patrol between Polis Di Raja Malaysia and Secom (M) Sdn Bhd was held on the 15th December 2007 at Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Shah Alam. The ceremony was graced by Dat' Khalid Bin Abu Bakar, Chief Police Officer of Selangor.

Secom has allocated 2 units of Proton Waja for this purpose. The patrolling will start off, focusing on the industrial areas in Shah Alam where there are high densities of Secom's customers. Besides that, Secom has donated one Toyota Avanza to PDRM to be used as a mobile police beat for the Shah Alam area. Amongst the participants were senior police officers from Selangor Police head office and directors, management and staff of Secom (M) Sdn Bhd.


The 2 units of SECOM patrol cars are patrolling the major industrial areas of Shah Alam. In each response car is our senior security officer and 1 police personnel. We will be expanding this fleet at a later stage due to favorable response from our customers, the public and the police.

Since the launching of the community police patrolling in Shah Alam, we received favorable response from our customers and the public. Break-ins for Secom customers have dropped significantly since the police patrol act as a second back up to our response team. The police patrol can also act as the first response if they are nearer to the crime scene. This has enhanced our response team's confidence and instills fear to potential perpetrators.

Donation of 1 unit Toyota Avanza to Shah Alam police
SECOM launched the community policing project as part of the Social Responsibility Program (SRP). This was officiated by Selangor CPO Datuk Khalid bin Abu Bakar at Kelab Golf Sultan Aziz Shah on 15 December 2007.

Under the community policing SECOM purchased 2 units Proton Waja to carry our joint patrolling with the police in Shah Alam area starting 7th January 2008. SECOM also donated 1 unit Toyota Avanza to the Shah Alam police and this will be used as a mobile patrol unit. Due to the strong co-operation with the police we are more effective in reducing crime to both Secom customers and the public at large. We have received favorable feedbacks from the police and the public and intend to extend this service to other areas in the near future.
