SECURITY GUARD SERVICES

In Malaysia, there are about 150,000 security guards working for about 300 security companies. The turnover in this industry is very high, with some companies experiencing 200% to 300% turnover rate. Most guards do not stay long in their job due to the long hours and low pay. They deem the job to be of low status and they have little pride in their uniform and job function.

SECOM made a decision to venture into the guard business because of the many enquiries received for high quality and professional guards. SECOM started the business in year 2003 focusing on the high risk market where security is a major concern to the customers. Good selection criteria for the right candidate are important factors in our recruitment process. Once selected, the candidate goes through a training program on the various aspects of guarding and loss prevention. We ensure our guards are paid well and on time. Each guard assignment is different since the risk factors vary from customer to customer.

Before SECOM takes on a Guard Service assignment, a study is made on the risk faced by the Customer and come out with an action plan for the best solution to prevent potential losses. Even though SECOM's guards cost is above the market rate, our Customers are getting the quality and results. The return on investment for our Customers is apparent in the reduction in losses faced by our Customers.
