The public sector spent a lot of money on security covering their own premises the territory under their control. Power sub-stations, transmission towers, central bank, water treatment plants, TV and radio stations are considered tier 4 or key point security sites since these facilities affect the nation security. Public sector such as schools, libraries, museums and hospitals installed CCTV and hire guards to protect their premises. Certain public sectors such as Pos Malaysia and Bank Negara have their own in-house auxiliary guards. Many city and town councils are installing CCTV to improve security under their jurisdiction. Police lockups and interrogation rooms are also installed with CCTV. Highway authorities and toll concessionaries have also installed CCTV alone major highways/toll booths to monitor traffic and payment counters.
