Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used to treat people going into sudden cardiac arrest. This medical equipment, which is both complex and user-friendly, analyses the heart’s rhythm and, if required, shocks the heart with electricity (a process known as defibrillation) to help it restore a healthy rhythm. When a person experiences cardiac arrest, a defibrillator can shock them to revive their heart. It increases the likelihood of survival if this is done a few minutes after the heart stops. In SECOM (Malaysia) not only we provide the equipment, but we also provide the training on how to operate the AED for any emergency events.
